Bali in Chicago

As a virtual stylist, I don’t always get to see how my clients bring their shoppable mood boards to life, so I LOVE when they go out of their way to share their photographer photos with me. 🙌🏾

Like many couples, Rachel and Evan had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic. They had initially planned to elope in Bali in June 2020, with a stateside wedding to follow.

They ended up marrying at City Hall in their home city of Chicago in July 2021, and their official wedding took place on June 18 at NoMI Kitchen in the Park Hyatt Chicago.

Since they couldn’t go to Bali as originally planned, I wanted to bring Bali to them with tropical florals in bright vibrant shades of purple and fuchsia, and metallic gold textiles. The couple has a love for travel and books, so the challenge was to subtly incorporate these 3 themes without it coming off as cheesy.

How It Came Together

With the help of friends, local vendors, and the NoMI Chicago staff, the bride and groom were able to bring the concept to life beautifully! I think they did a fantastic job!

How do you think they did?
